- The Only Women’s Baseball Tournament in Korea Sponsored by a Corporation, Co-hosted and Organized by the Women’s Baseball Association Korea (WBAK) - Record-Breaking Participation with 47 Teams… Matches to Be Held on Weekends at LG Champions Park and Dream Stadium in Icheon The LX Cup Korea Women’s Baseball Championship, the only women’s baseball tournament in Korea sponsored by a corporation, will kick off this weekend. The ‘2025 LX Cup Korea Women’s Baseball Championship’ will take place from November 8 to 16 at LG Champions Park and Dream Stadium in Icheon, Gyeonggi-do, with matches held on Saturdays and Sundays. Now in its fourth year, the tournament is co-hosted and organized by LX Group and the Women’s Baseball Association Korea (WBAK). It was established in 2022 to expand the foundation of women’s baseball in Korea and provide players with opportunities for growth, and has been held annually since then. This year’s championship will be the largest ever, featuring 47 teams and more than 1,000 participants. Twenty teams in the Championship League (upper league) and twenty-seven teams in the Future League (lower league) will compete in a tournament format for the top position in each league. All games are open to the public free of charge, and both the Championship League’s opening game on November 8 and the final match on November 16 will be streamed live on YouTube.  In the Championship League, “Seoul Hura,” the champion team in both 2023 and 2024, will compete for a third consecutive victory in the LX Cup. They will face strong competition from “Uiwang Black Pearls,” winners of the Uljin National Women’s Baseball Tournament, and “Seoul Real Diamonds,” champions of the Iksan Mayor’s Cup National Women’s Baseball Tournament, signaling an intense battle for the title. A spokesperson from LX Holdings stated, “We hope all participating athletes will experience genuine growth through fair competition, and we will do our utmost to ensure they can focus on their games and perform at their best throughout the tournament.” The LX Cup Korea Women’s Baseball Championship embodies the strong commitment of Bon-joon Koo, Chairman of LX Group, to promoting women’s baseball in Korea. A passionate supporter of baseball, Chairman Koo has been a steadfast advocate for the development of women’s baseball and has actively supported the discovery and training of young talents. In particular, he has long sponsored overseas training and exchange programs in Japan to help promising female players in Korea hone their skills within a structured system. (End)
